Headache nausea vomiting spasms. Acting like her typical migraines but I’ve got my backpack ready for a 911 call just in case. Prayers are appreciated.❤️🙏
Per Rie’s surgeon, we stopped the time consuming daily wound care. With that extra time and with Rie’s overall improvements, we decided to take our first nonessential trip out of the house. The short trip to the bank to close an old account was perfect! Praise God. ❤️🙏
Plastic surgeon says scalp scar is healing well! Recheck in one month! Praise God. 🙏 Now, we can try to catch up with other doctor appointments, past due bills and taxes and notify the rehab team that we can resume the push for outpatient therapy. A big thank you to all that have been praying for us. Love and blessings.❤️🙏
As recently as two months ago, I didn’t think a dentist office could handle Rie’s appointments due to logistical hurdles so I looked for dentists that might round in hospitals but couldn’t find any. Since then, she’s made so much progress that the crown measurement appointment yesterday went perfectly well! Praise God🙏. Her fancy “tilt-in-space” wheelchair finally arrived after six months. It’s so comfortable she is napping in it right now. Her last three stitches were removed today. The incision is looking good so far. Please pray for complete healing of the scar without any weak areas.❤️🙏
Rie had a good day. She enjoyed an unhurried shower. We thoroughly rinsed her surgical wounds and reapplied Bacitracin ointment. We had good chats with Mia. Rie ate good food, had a good nap, then a good walk. We read the Good Book and thanked our Good God.❤️🙏
Drain # 2 was removed yesterday as its output dropped significantly. Some or all stitches to be removed on Monday(🙏). Rie extended her daily walk with the roller to the street over the front deck. She asked to fold the clean laundry and thankfully did a great job while standing independently. She may regret that offer!❤️🙏
Drain #2 couldn’t be removed as it’s output increased after drain #1 was removed. We’re praying that the output drops soon so we can get the drain removed which would significantly simplify the daily wound care and improve Rie’s ability to mobilize again safely. After this last surgery, Rie was quite groggy and weak but thankfully all of that have finally resolved. She walked 300 feet yesterday with her rollator walker with minimal assistance. Praise God.❤️🙏
