Looking up again!

The family visit is going well despite a minor setback due to Rie’s UTI causing her to be very sluggish. Rie’s siblings are back in Virginia and California. Her parents will have to return to Virginia later this week. The UTI seems to be responding to the antibiotics as Rie has regained her speed, stamina, and sense of humor! Praise God❤️🙏.

The Blessings of Rain

Rie had a good day, no headache or vomiting; just very sluggish, probably from all the ER meds and her usual post-event regression. I’m praying that she wakes up again today headache-free and more alert. At 3 pm yesterday We were disappointed that we had to change our exciting plans of picking up Rie’s family from the airport because the rain was too hard to help rie walk to the car. The moment I was about to call the family to tell them to take uber instead, we noticed the rain had suddenly stopped. We quickly got rie in the car. As I was closing her door the heavy rain restarted! We arrived at the airport thru heavy traffic exactly at the right time to meet the family at curbside. God is Good❤️🙏.

Home from ER

Got home from the ER at 2 AM. Rie had severe migraines and vomiting all day yesterday. All tests including head CT scan were fine. Bunch of IV migraine meds helped. Praise the Lord. All of her recent migraines have followed a day of intense outpatient therapy. I’m guessing her outpatient therapy schedule is too intense for her recovering brain. I requested a major adjustment to her therapy schedule. Request was accepted. We’re going to one hour per day instead if three hours per day. Praying that the adjustment helps. ❤️🙏

Longest Outing

Yesterday we were out all day: CPA meeting in the morning to start working on the delinquent 2020 tax returns; outpatient therapy all afternoon. Rie did great but it was exhausting so lots of rest today. Rie’s parents and all three siblings are coming for a visit from Virginia and California. It’s a unique visit. We’ve never had them over all at the sane time. We’re super excited!  Maybe one of them can help me style Rie’s hair. It’s now long enough for a Pixie! Praise God. ❤️🙏

Thankfully Rie’s medical issues are stabilizing one by one so we have had more time to focus on rehab: walking more often with better posture with the walker, stretching out the tightened right shoulder to improve self care abilities, short-term memory and cognitive games/apps. etc. Scalp scar is still a little too thin in places so we have to baby it and monitor it closely for breakdowns and infections for another year. She is more alert, probably getting used to the anti-seizure medication.  We have a lot to be thankful for. Hope y’all are doing well. Love and blessings ❤️🙏.
